Crawshaws,
near Lilliesleaf,
Roxburghshire.
Betten 4/5
Crawshaws is an old stone cottage of considerable character, dating in part from the 18th century, which has been recently restored. Sanded wooden floors, solid old furniture in keeping with the house and modern tiled-floor kitchen, all combine to make this traditional cottage a comfortable and cosy holiday house. It stands at the side of a quiet farm road amongst a tiny hamlet of houses, on a grassy hillside which slopes down to a stream and has a pretty outlook across to trees and some lovely walks round about.
It is about 40 miles south of Edinburgh, not far from the villages of Midlem and Lilliesleaf (2 pubs). Semi-detached from West Cottage it shares the same lovely countryside, and has a small grass garden in front (furniture) where drinks and snacks can be enjoyed.
Heating is by wood-burning stove and electricity. Bed linen and towels can be hired. Pets welcome
