Fasgadh Na Drochit,
Nethy Bridge,
Inverness-shire
Betten 2
Fasgadh Na Drochit (the cottage by the stream) is a delightful and genuine highland cottage that is nowadays so difficult to find. It is just waiting to welcome you in a pretty garden that runs down to the banks of the shallow River Nethy in the attractive village of Nethy Bridge which lies near the Abernethy Forest at the foot of the Cairngorm Mountains, the RSPB 'Osprey' Reserve and Strathspey Steam Railway - only 10 miles from the sporting and entertainment centre of Aviemore on the fast A9.
Pretty and quaint in traditional style, the cottage has painted wood-clad walls throughout, a living-room with the original (working) triplex grate (with back-boiler) which makes for very cosy evenings - the whole cottage full of character - neat and comfortable in the old-fashioned way, and ideal for those enjoying a touch of nostalgia.
Heating is by oil central-heating (
included), open or electric fire. Bed-linen and towels are
included. Pets are welcome. No smoking is allowed in the cottage. There is a laundry available for tenants' use, and the owners run a Bed and Breakfast next door if you have friends who want to visit for a night or two.
