It is not often that you can find a holiday home which is very much at the centre of things and still manages to be quietly secluded. At Glenalva, however, that is precisely what's on offer! Situated in the heart of the pretty little spa town of Bridge of Allan (all facilities), where the Victorians used to come to take the waters, and just a couple of minutes walk from excellent eateries and the many interesting shops along the main street, it stands to the back of a substantial Victorian mansion. Indoors and out, this garden apartment has a delightfully cottagey feel. It has its own south-facing cottage garden at the door with furniture and barbeque, perfect for relaxing on a warm summer's day or sipping a glass of wine after a busy day's sight-seeing.

Inside, the house is bright and spacious and has been beautifully furnished and equipped with great flair and style by its proud owner with everything necessary for the most comfortable of holidays.

Another great plus is its accessibility. Just 2 miles from historic Stirling with its Wallace Monument, dramatic Castle and Old Town Jail, Glenalva is easily reached by road or rail. Edinburgh is only 38 miles away, Perth, the gateway to the Highlands, is 32 miles, or, if you strike west, you can be in the lovely Trossachs in barely half an hour, then on to Loch Lomond and even the west coast. Eastwards, Fife and St Andrews is again just over an hour's drive. So many of Scotland's best known attractions are within such easy distance!

There are some delightful walks and cycle trails in the immediate vicinity; fishing is available locally, and other sports are also well catered for. Bridge of Allan is also perfectly situated for the many summer courses run by the Open University on the nearby Stirling campus. There is plenty of unrestricted parking within a few yards of the cottage.

Heating by gas central heating, bed linen and towels are all included. One well-behaved pet is welcome by arrangement. Sorry, no smoking within the house.
