Just 3 miles from the historic town of Forres, on Scotland's sunny Moray coast is Little Lawrenceton, a delightful wee, traditional, roses-round-the-door cottage, ideal for two people who want to explore the many attractions of this scenic area.

Surrounded by woods and farmland, and reached by a quiet minor road, the cottage has a peaceful and secluded location. The owner's house is the only dwelling nearby, and the cottage faces away from it so is quite private. Inside, it has been refurbished and is now cosy and comfy as can be.

For all that, you are just a few minutes drive from the main A96 Elgin-Inverness road, which will take you to all the picturesque fishing villages along the Moray coast. You can visit beautiful Findhorn (6m) and the fine sandy beaches around Burghead Bay and Hopeman. Alternatively, if you head inland you will soon find yourself on the Whisky Trail - Benromach and Dallas Dhu, Glenfarclas, Glenfiddich and Glen Grant are probably the nearest to the cottage - perhaps taking a walk along the beautiful Speyside Way (just to clear your head, you understand), while you are there.

There are excellent golf courses all along the coast, while lovers of birds and wild life can visit the RSPB reserves at Culbin Sands and Spey Bay and look out for seals and dolphins in the Moray Firth.

Forres is considered the heart of 'Macbeth Country'. Cawdor and Brodie Castles are both nearby and open to the public. Then of course there is Loch Ness to explore, and with such good road connections, it is also perfectly feasible to make a day trip to lovely Glen Affric, or even across to the west coast at Plockton or Badachro.

Heating is by electricity (included) and wood-burning stove. Bed linen and towels are included. One well-behaved pet is welcome by arrangement.
