Lochside Cottage is situated on the banks of the Holy Loch in Kilmun on the west coast of Scotland, separated from the water by just a local road, and just round the corner from Dunoon (5m all facilities). A pretty stone-built house, standing in its own large grass garden, ideal for children, with lovely views across the loch to the Glen Massen hills beyond, it offers most attractive, spacious and well appointed accommodation for up to six people.

In addition to the cosy sitting room, there is a separate dining room, sunroom, and two bedrooms and shower downstairs. Upstairs there is a further double bedroom with en suite facilities.

There is a hotel and restaurant within easy walking distance. There are excellent sailing facilities on the loch and good walking in the hills behind. Many pleasant hours can be spent exploring the ins and outs of the many little peninsulae of this attractive area. You are also on the edge of the Argyll Forest Park and the scenery around Loch Ridden, en route to the popular sailing venue of Tighnabruaich (22m) is particularly pretty. The woodland walks in Puck's Glen, up the road towards Strachur are very atmospheric, and you can combine this with a visit to the National Trust Gardens at Benmore, which is situated just opposite. True garden enthusiasts may also wish to visit the Ardkinglas Woodlands Garden (23m) at the head of Loch Fyne, and Crarae Gardens (45m) further round the Loch. From Cairndow, you can turn east over the evocatively named Rest and Be Thankful to Loch Lomond, or continue round to Inveraray and thence up to Loch Awe and Oban. (71m). In the opposite direction, for a day in the city, you can catch the ferry from Dunoon, and be in Glasgow in just over an hour.
