Wester Bunloit is a former crofthouse 4 miles - mostly 'up' - from the west shores of Loch Ness, and it is a house with a surely unique, almost unbelievable bird's eye view from its hilly 600ft-height along the 24-mile length of the Loch and across to the Monadhliath Mountains. (Ben Nevis can be seen on a clear day).

From here, you can watch in undisturbed comfort for 'the monster' who is said to have first been encountered by St Columba in the 6th century, and then dormant until the 1930s when the roadmakers saw 'something' in Loch Ness - while from the nearby village of Drumnadrochit, 6 miles (shop/hotel), you can visit the Monster Museum to learn about subsequent sightings; and sail the loch or visit ruined Urquhart Castle for some more monster spotting.

In a superb location - on a 1,200-acre private estate - with a tarmac road to within a half-mile (then hard track), this detached house is built within the original stone walls of the old croft and is now most comfortable in its furnishing and equipment, with spectacular views from almost every window.

About 30 minute's drive from Inverness and an hour from Fort William, it is well-placed for visiting Wester Ross and Skye, The Road to the Isles and the lovely coast of The Moray Firth.

Heating by electric central-heating and wood-burning stove (a supply of logs included). Bed-linen and towels are included. Pets by arrangement. Smoking is not allowed within the house.
